Fry over medium heat until almost done. While beef is cooking (which only take a few minutes), cut asparagus and beans into bit-size chunks. Add to beef and cover to let veggies steam. Once veggies are crisp-tender, add in cooked rice and canola oil. Stir to combine and cover. Cook on low just until rice is hot, stirring occasionally so rice doesn't burn. I added a little sweet chili sauce to mine at the end, but it's good without as well.
