Add garlic and cook for another 2 minutes. While that is cooking, chop potatoes into bite size pieces and cook them separately in another pot for 6-8 minutes in boiling water. Drain and set aside. Once sausage/onion/garlic mixture is cooked through, add 2 tsp sweet dried basil, 8 cups of water and the chicken bouillon paste and bring to a boil. Add in chopped kale and cook for 3-4 minutes on medium high. Add in potatoes and 1 cup of milk. Cook through for about a minute, or until everything is heated through.
