Smart Balance buttery spread salt and pepper to taste 1/4 c. wheat flour Water How Do I Make Salmon Gravy with Peas?Here is how you make Salmon Gravy with Peas: Spray a nonstick skillet and empty contents of canned salmon(water also) into the skillet. Add onion and gently allow to heat. When onions are clear add the milk. Next add peas. Heat to slight simmer, add "butter" and salt and pepper. As this begins to simmer LIGHTLY, stir in a roe made from the flour and approx. 1/3c. water. *See below for instructions on making a roe. Gently stir mixture allowing it to heat to gentle simmer again and begins to thicken. Voila, serve over saltines, ritz, or toast. *To make a successful roe take any small amount of flour, (for this recipe I used about 1/4 cup. Using a whisk mix in a larger amount (for this I used approx. 1/3 to 1/2 cup water) of water and whishk until all is smooth. Add to any simmering liquid to make a "gravy" type sauce. The amt. of flour vs. amt. of water or milk (for what was called milk gravy) directlt effects how thick or thin the gravy will be.
