Whole Wheat Dough:
1 cup white flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 pkg yeast
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup warm water
1 tsp honey

Marinara Sauce:
1 garlic clove
2 tsp olive oil
1 large can crushed tomatoes
1 garlic clove, crushed
salt & pepper

Filling: (Omit Chicken for vegetarian)
1 cup chicken breast - cooked and shredded
2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
1 can or pkg artichokes, rinsed (defrost if frozen)
1 1/2 cups provolone cheese, diced



How Do I Make Roasted Chicken Artichoke Calzones?

Here is how you make Roasted Chicken Artichoke Calzones:

Preheat Oven to 425 degrees.Make dough - Dissolve yeast and honey in warm water in medium bowl. Let sit 5 minutes. Combine the flours. Add 1 cup to the liquid and mix well. Knead in the remaining flour. Oil bowl, place dough back in bowl, turn and let rest covered with plastic wrap. (at least 15 minutes) Make sauce - saute garlic for 1 minute in oil. Add tomatoes, 1 tsp. oregano, salt & pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes. Add fresh chopped basil leaves.Make filling - Chop up artichokes and mix with chicken, spinach, cheese and crushed garlic.Divide dough in half. Divide each half into 4 balls. Roll out each ball on floured surface into oval shape. Fill one side of oval with 3/4-1 cup filling. Neatly fold over other half and seal closed using fingers or fork. Oil cookie sheet and sprinkle cornmeal lightly on pan. Place calzones on pan. Brush lightly with olive oil and bake for 12 minutes. Serve with sauce.
