1 pound turkey or chicken Italian sausage
132 oz. jar Spagetti sauce. Your favorite flavor
2 cups low fat mozzarella cheese
1 24 oz. carton fat free cottage cheese
1 egg
2 tbsp. Italian seasoning mix


How Do I Make Mom's Lasagna?

Here is how you make Mom's Lasagna:

Spray a 9x13 pan with canola oil. Brown sausage, removing the skins. Break into small pieces.Mix the egg and 2 tbsp. Italian seasoning into the cottage cheese. Mix thoroughly.Spread a thin layer of pasta sauce on bottom of pan.Layer 3 lasagna noodles.Sprinkle half the meat over noodles.Top off jar of sauce with water and shake well. Pour one third of the sauce over the meat.Spread one half of cottage cheese mixture over sauce and meat.Sprinkle half of mozzarella cheese over cottage cheese.Repeat layers, ending with mozzarella cheese.Spray a sheet of foil with canola or olive oil. Cover lasagna.At this point you can freeze. Or store in refrigerator for 1-3 days.Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour. Let set 10-15 minutes before cutting.
