Here is how you make Italian Sausage, peppers and onions with Parmesan Polenta:

Sautee the sausage in a bit of olive oil until well browned. Add about 1/2 cup of water to the pan and cover. Simmer for about 20 minutes until sausage are cooked thoroughly. Remove sausage and keep warm. Add a bit more olive oil, then add the peppers and onions. Sautee on medium-high heat until onions are softened and peppers start to char. Add the sausage back to the pan. Add a 1/4 cup water, cover and simmer about 10 minutes.In a sauce pan add 4 cups water (or sub chicken broth). Bring to a boil. Add one cup dry polenta, stirring well. When the polenta has reached the desired consistency, remove from heat. Add parmesan cheese, olive oil and stir well. Add the butter and stir well.
