How Do I Make Sausage and Red Pepper Penne?

Here is how you make Sausage and Red Pepper Penne:

Set a pot of water on high heat to boil. Brown sausage, drain off any fat. While the sausage is browning, chop bell pepper, onion, tomatoes (fresh or canned), garlic, and basil. Add to the sausage and cook for 5 minutes on medium heat (to let the pepper and onion soften a bit). Add tomato sauce, brown sugar, a dash or two of garlic salt. Set to simmer. The water should be boiling now - add pasta and cook per package. Allow the sauce to simmer while the pasta is cooking. When the penne is done, drain and mix with the sauce.
