*1lb Lean Ground Turkey
*1 Cup cooked Brown Rice
*2 tbsp Italian seasoning blend (oregano, parsley)
*1 tbsp each Garlic powder & Onion powder
*1/2 tbsp black pepper, or to taste


How Do I Make Simple Stuffed Peppers?

Here is how you make Simple Stuffed Peppers:

Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. After removing tops and seeding peppers, place a damp paper towel on top of a microwave safe plate and place the peppers upside down on the plate. Microwave for 5 minutes. This will help to tenderize the peppers!Bring tomato sauce and herbs/spices to a low simmer in a sauce pot. Meanwhile, in another pan, cook and crumble ground turkey until all meat is no longer pink. Once turkey is cooked, add in cooked brown rice and half of the sauce. Stir mixture until heated through, about 5 minutes. Remove the peppers CAREFULLY from the microwave. Spray a 9 X 13 glass baking dish with non-stick spray and arrange peppers in two rows of 3 in baking dish. Fill each pepper to the top with turkey/rice mixture. Pour remaining sauce over each pepper. Cover the entire baking dish with aluminum foil. Bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes. Peppers will be tender. Serve with a side salad.
