What Are The Ingredients For Baked Beans Recipe? The ingredients for Baked Beans are: 4.0 cup Beans, navy (2 lbs, dry)1.0 oz Salt Pork (cured pork) 1/4 cup, packed Brown Sugar 1/4 cup Molasses, blackstrap 1 tbsp Salt 1 tsp dry mustard 1 tablespoon Lea & Perrins, Worcestershire Sauce 0.5 cup, chopped Onions, raw- optional How Do I Make Baked Beans? Here is how you make Baked Beans: Prepare dry beans as specified on the bag (overnight soak, or quick boil, or boil). I soak overnight, and then boil the beans for 45 minutes - 1 hour. When you boil them, do not boil at too high of a heat, and watch water level... maintain a soft boil. Place the beans into a bean pot or large covered casserole dish. At the half way level, add in some of the salt pork and onion. Fill the rest of the pot with the remaining beans. Discard the water. On top of the beans, add the rest of the salt pork, onion, and remaining ingredients. Fill the casserole/bean pot with water. Cover. NEVER STIR THE BEANS! Bake at 300 degrees for 2 hours. Check the water level and add more water if necessary. Continue to check as they cook all day- 7 - 8 hours. Taste and add extra salt, sugar, or molasses.... but keep in mind that as they rest, the flavors will sweeten (second week beans are always better!). Remove from oven and let rest 30 minutes before serving. Let pot cool before refrigerating. To reheat, take bean pot out of refrigerator 1 hour before heating. Check the beans and add water. Heat up at 300 for 1 -2 hours.Serving Size: 1/4 cup.
