In a 2 quart saucepan, heat milk and butter to 120 degrees. Mix into dry ingredients and beat until moistened. Add the egg. Beat with a wooden spoon or mixer on low for 30 seconds, then beat on high for about 3 minutes.2) Stir in cornmeal. Stir in cheese. Do NOT knead dough. Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled.
