Here is how you make Thomas Jefferson's Sweet Potato Bread:

Preheat oven to 350F. In large bowl stir flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, ginger and all spice. Add shortening and cut in with 2 knives until crumbly. Add the sweet potatoes and mix well with a wooden spoon. Add the cream and pecans and stir until moistened. Thurn the dough out onto lightly floured surface. Roll out the dough to 1.5 inches thick. Cut with a 2 inch floured biscuit cutter. Place buscuits 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
