Place in pot with water to cover and bring to boil. Boil until tender but not mushy about 3 minutes (and water will turn deep purple). Drain water, set aside. In the mean time, cut bacon into small peices and fry in pan until crispy, and remove from heat.Pour bacon, fat and all into cabbage, add 2 cups of vinegar (isn't that cool, the color goes from deep purple to bright fushia!) Stir, add Salt and Garlic Powder to taste.
