Here is how you make Hash Brown Cheese Casserole:

Place potatoes in collander. Let stand until completely thawed. Drain off excess moisture. Combine sour cream, soup and 1/2 cup butter and mix well. Add salt and minced onion. Blend in potatoes and cheese. Place mixture in a shallow 2-quart casserole dish sprayed with cooking spray. Combine corn flakes with 1/4 cup of butter and sprinkle over top of potatoes.
