Here is how you make Louisiana Cornbread:

You will want to prepare this cornbread in an iron skillet for the best results. Preheat oven to 375. In a large mixing bowl combine egg, cornmeal, flour, milk, baking powder, and a pinch of salt and beat until texture is smooth and consistent. Stir in 1 can of sweet corn (you can also use Mexicorn). Heat bacon drippings in the iron skillet. Swivel the drippings in the skillet to coat the bottom and sides and stir the excess into the batter. Pour the batter into the iron skillet and bake in the oven for about 35 - 40 minutes. Cornbread is ready when a toothpick or fork inserted in the middle comes back dry.
