My Everything Dough

This recipe was adapted from the salad-in-a-jar website for pull apart rolls - I use it for everything - pizza dough, pita dough, cinnamon rolls, garlic knots, hamburger buns and more. This bread can do so much! And it is easy to substitute ingredients with wonderful results - I have used honey and yogurt in place of the sugar and some milk, I have used oil instead of butter, added herbs and spices - this dough can do almost every thing.

How Do I Make My Everything Dough?

Here is how you make My Everything Dough:

I make this in my bread machine on the dough cycle, but it is not hard to mix in a mixer or by handIn a bread machineplace ingredients in the pan of the machine in this ordermilk, warmed to just above room tempbutter, softenedeggsaltsugarflouryeaststart dough cycle - with the whole wheat flour, it will require extra time to rise - I usually let it rise in a warm room for 2 hoursonce dough has risen, use it as desired - cooking instructions vary depending on the application. For pull apart bread (the original intention) roll dough out to 1in thickness and cut into bite size pieces with a pizza cutter. If desired roll in butter or cinnamon sugar (will change the nutritional profile). Layer loosely in a monkey bread pan, bundt pan or pie pan with a ball of foil in the middle. Cover and allow to rise for an additional half hour. Preheat oven to 400. Place rolls in heated oven on middle rack for 30 minutes. Cover tightly with foil for last 15 minutes to prevent over-browning.Serve immediately with anything!Number of Servings: 12Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user FABBECKY.
