2oz angelhair pasta- broken into tiny pieces.
.5 cups uncooked long grain rice( I use basmati)
2 Tbls butter
.25 cups pine nuts
4 cups water flavored with 3 cubes low sodium beef bullion.( or equivalent amount of low sodium "better than bullion" base.


How Do I Make Quinoa and Pine Nut Rice-a-Roni?

Here is how you make Quinoa and Pine Nut Rice-a-Roni:

In a nonstick pot place quinoa, rice, pasta and butter- over high heat cook Stirring CONSTANTLY until pasta turns a light golden brown( about 5-6 minutes) . Add Pine nuts and cook until pine nuts are golden brown and pasta is chocolate brown another 5-7 minutes( you may think it's burned but the primary toasty taste comes from browning it well. Add Bullion flavored water- cook stirring occasionally until liquid is just above the level of rice mix( about 7 minutes at a rapid boil. Then cover reduce heat to simmer and cook until liquid is absorbed. 10-15 minutes. Stir well and serve. Makes 6 generous servings.
