Wet:
3/4 cup milk at room temperature
2 tbsp molasses
2 tsp vegetable oil

Dry:
1 packet (or 1 tsp) active yeast
1 tsp salt
1/3 cup unsalted, hulled sunflower seeds
1/4 cup raisins, packed
2 cups flour (or half whole wheat half white)

Optional:

2 tsp cracked black pepper

How Do I Make Molasses, Raisin and Sunflower bread?

Here is how you make Molasses, Raisin and Sunflower bread:

Mix the dry ingredients (but only 1 cup of the flour for now) together until the raisins and sunflower seeds are well integrated, then slowly add the wet ingredients. Now, while mixing (I prefer a wooden spoon) add in the rest of the flour until the dough forms into a ball.Knead for eight minutes, adding more flour as necessary to keep the dough together (but the less flour used, the lighter the bread will be). Put dough in a greased bowl with a tea cloth over it and let sit somewhere warm to rise for an hour. After an hour, punch the dough down and knead out the bubbles (should take about 5 minutes). Form into a round loaf and place on a greased cookie sheet. Let rise in a draft-less area for another 45 minutes or until doubled in size. (I used the oven, turned off).Bake the bread at 375 for 45 minutes or until it makes a hollow sound when tapped on the top. Let sit 5 minutes before cutting.Serving Size: Makes twelve 2x2x1" slicesNumber of Servings: 12Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user AUBRAZILLA.
