Here is how you make Half Whole Wheat Bread:

Put warm (should feel almost hot to the touch but not so hot it is uncomfortable) water, yeast, and honey or sugar in a bowl, stirred slightly or sprinkled in so the yeast is all wet, and set aside to proof.Sift or stir flours, powdered milk, and salt in a large bowl or tub. In a separate bowl, beat egg and oil together until smooth. Stir into flour, but don't worry about distributing it evenly. Pour in water/yeast/honey mixture and stir until enough flour is incorporated to be able to knead it. Knead until all the flour is incorporated (turn out onto a floured counter if necessary). Do not attempt to make a smooth, consistent dough at this point, just get all the ingredients wet together. Return to bowl and cover.Allow to rise in a warm place until double in size (1-2 hours). Punch down the dough and knead again. The dough should now be a fairly smooth and consistent texture. Return to bowl, cover, and allow to rise to double again.Punch down dough. Turn out and knead again. Form into 2 loaves and place in greased bread pans.
