Knead the ball for a few minutes until it is a smooth dough and then cover the bowl and leave to double in size. When doubled, punch down and knead again and form a smooth log and place in a greased loaf pan to rise a second time (covered) while the oven preheats. When the loaf has doubled again, bake in a 200C oven and bake until the top is well-browned, about 30 minutes depending on oven, and remove to cool on a baking rack.
