15 oz. canned red beans, drained
1 1/2 cup chopped onion

1/2 tsp. celery seed (or 1/2 cup chopped fresh celery)
2 TBS. chili powder (you can always add more later)
1 tsp. ground cumin
1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
1/2 tsp. oregano
1 TBS sugar
pinch of ground chipotle (or cayenne, if you are brave)

Here is how you make Wendy's Chili:

1) In a skillet (if finishing in crock pot) or dutch oven (that chili will be completely made in), brown meat. If you don't have time to simmer the chili before serving, soften the onion and bell pepper in the skillet too.2) Add all other ingredients, stirring well.3) Cook in a 4-5 quart crock pot for at least 4 hours on low (2 hours on high). Resist the urge to take the lid off of the crock pot while cooking.
