Quarter the onion, and place in the bottom of the slow cooker (or dutch oven) as a bed for the roast. Place roast on top of onions. Open can of chilis, and pour entire contents over pork. Add Dr. Pepper and brown sugar. In slow cooker, cook on high for about 7 1/2 hours, or in oven, on 200 degrees for about 6 hours, until meat easily comes apart when pulled. Remove pork to work surface and shred meat, throwing away any fatty sections, and place in serving container. Skim fat from top of pan or slow cooker.
