Recipe for Almond Slices (from Marion )

? c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking powder
1 ? c. light brown sugar (I only used about 1 c. in the batch brought to the cookie exchange)
? c. oil
2 ? c. flour
2 eggs
2 T. water
1 tsp. almond extract
3 c. almonds (I usually used thin sliced)

Preheat the oven to 375.
Mix dry ingredients. Add eggs, oil and water. Mix well. Add almonds; the more almonds the better .
Mixture will be thick. Separate dough into halves and put onto your baking sheet. (I cook on parchment for easy clean-up. You can use an oiled sheet if you prefer.)
Shape dough into a rough loaf shape. Bake for 20 minutes (or until golden brown and cooked through).
Remove from oven and move parchment onto wire racks for cooling. Cut loaves into slices while still warm, but not hot.
Store in airtight container. Keep cool and will keep for a long time.
