Walnuts, 1 cup, chopped Salt, Kroger SALT IODIZED,1/4 tsp Kirkland Fat Free Milk, 3 cups Kirkland Pure Vanilla Extract, 1 T How Do I Make Old Fashioned Fudge?Here is how you make Old Fashioned Fudge: Combine sugar, cocoa, and salt in an 8 qt saucepan. Mix until all incorporated. Add milk and stir until sugar is mostly dissolved. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat. Bring to full rolling boil and stop stirring. Put a candy thermometer in place. Cook without stirring to soft ball stage (234-236 F) (At 3700 ft elevation, it will only reach 220 F). Use the water test to determine when it has reached the point of forming a ball with slight firmness. Remove from heat and add butter, vanilla and walnuts (do NOT stir). Adjust the thermometer so it will be able to register the temperature. Butter a 9x13 inch glass pan. Cool fudge mixture to 110-115 F. Beat with a hand mixer or a wooden spoon until the fudge begins to lose its gloss. Turn into the buttered pan. Allow to cool a little to solidify a bit before scoring the top into 1 inch pieces.
