How Do I Make Granola Bar?

Here is how you make Granola Bar:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix oats, wheat germ, flax seeds, and almonds on a baking sheet that has sides. Toast in the oven for 10-12 minutes making sure to stir every couple of minutes so that the mixture doesn't burn. Meanwhile, line a 11x13 baking dish with was paper that was lightly sprayed with nonstick spray. While grains are toasting, put the brown sugar, honey, butter, vanilla, and salt into a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Stir often to prevent burning. Let it bubble for about 30 seconds and then remove from heat. Combine the toasted grains, dried fruit, and sugar mixture in a large bowl. Make sure that you mix everything really well so that the sugar mixture is well distributed. Put the mixture into baking dish and press down really hard so that it becomes very compact. Allow to cool 2-3 hours until the mixed has hardened. Remove the granola from the baking dish and place on large cutting board. Cut your granola with a large sharp knife into 18 rectangular size bars. Store for a couple of days in an air-tight container or freeze in individual ziploc bags to allow for a grab-and-go breakfast.Number of Servings: 18Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user CHARITYYODER.
