What Are The Ingredients For Dehydrated Kale Chips with Hummus Recipe?

The ingredients for Dehydrated Kale Chips with Hummus are:

1/2 lb. (one bunch) of raw kale - I use green.

For Dressing Goop:
3 oz. oil free (not fat free) hummus
I used Whole Foods Original Tahini. You'll want one with tahini in it, for sure. The oil free varieties are lower calorie.
3 cloves garlic
4 tbs. KAL nutritional yeast
I like this brand best, Red Star also works. Don't use brewer's yeast! It's bitter and not what you want.
2 tbs. lime juice, fresh or bottled
1/8 tsp. minced ginger, fresh or jarred
2 Tbs. Bragg's Aminos (or substitute soy sauce)

How Do I Make Dehydrated Kale Chips with Hummus?

Here is how you make Dehydrated Kale Chips with Hummus:

Rinse leaves well and shake the kale to dry slightly. Tear the leaves off the thick stems and into bite sized pieces. Put into a large mixing bowl and set aside.Place remaining ingredients into a blender/food processor and pulse until smooth. This stuff will be a bit thinner than hummus, but not by much. You want it pretty goopy!Pour the dressing over the kale. Use handfuls of kale to wipe up all the dressing out of the bottom and off the sides of your blender/processor. Don't want to waste any. :)Mix with your hands until all the kale is evenly coated with the hummus goop. Place in a single layer onto your dehydrator trays, dehydrate overnight. I do about 6-7 hours and they are very much done in the morning. It probably doesn't even need that long but it's convenient to set it up before going to bed.No dehydrator? Set your oven to the lowest temp possible and put the chips onto cookie sheets. Bake in the oven, with the door left slightly ajar, until chips are crisp and chip like.Number of Servings: 3Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user LEONALIONESS.
