2 tsp. baking soda

Here is how you make Black Bottom Muffins:

To make the filling: Beat the cream cheese, egg, salt and sugar. Stir in the chocolate chips. To make the muffin batter: Sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa, oil, salt, and baking soda. Mix in the vanilla, water and vinegar. Fill each cup with 1 1/2 tbsp. of muffin batter, then 1 tsp. filling, and cover with another dallop of muffin batter. Bake at 325F for 20 minutes.
