How Do I Make Energy Bar, Multi-Nut?

Here is how you make Energy Bar, Multi-Nut:

* These are not baked* Ahead of time, soak the dates at room temperature for a few hours if you think of it. They get soft and lend more moisture to the mix. Then just throw all ingredients in a food processor and blend to the consistancy you would like them. Some like their bars smoother like a PowerBar, some like them a little grittier/chunkier like a ClifBar. You may have to divide out some of the ingredients and process it in smaller batches then mix together by hand. Grease an 8 x 8 or 9 x 13 inch pan with coconut oil (this comes as a solid in a jar, but melts easily) -or- use non-hydrogenated margarine, Earth Balance, etc. Press mix firmly into pan, then cut into desired bar size. They will be soft. In a larger pan you can get about 16 bars. They aren't big, but are very dense so you don't need a large bar for a powerful snack. Keep in freezer. They won't freeze solid due to the amounts of omega oils in the nuts, hemp, and flax. Try to use as many raw ingredients as possible as roasted nuts have less natural oils/nutrients in them than raw. Raw seeds and nuts taste just about the same, if not better than their roasted counter parts. Note for nuts: The amounts are estimated. I start with a 1/4 cup raw almonds, then top off to a full cup with what ever seeds and nuts I have on hand--just so you get a full cup when all seeds and nuts (except flax) are added up.Number of Servings: 16Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user SUPERMARIOCYC.
