2 tsp maple syrup
1tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
2 Tbsp lard or bacon fat
6 Tbsp boiling water


How Do I Make Scottish Oat Cakes?

Here is how you make Scottish Oat Cakes:

Process stone ground oats, maple syrup, kosher salt and bicarbonate of soda for 3 minutes in food processor. Add lard (or bacon fat), add boiling water x6 Tbsp, blend. Rest. Add water and mix as necessary. Roll half dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut 3 inch rounds and place on cookie tray. Use wax paper to roll out. Do same with second half of dough. Fill 2 cookie trays.
