How Do I Make myT Microwaved Sweet Potato and More Chips?

Here is how you make myT Microwaved Sweet Potato and More Chips:

Makes 1 Guilt-free Serving1. Thinly slice (about 1/8") your potato using a knife, mandolin, or food processor. The key is to make sure slices are about the same thickness.2. Place slices on a microwave safe tray. (I use a pizza stone.) 3. Microwave 15-20 minutes. Chips are done when they are stiff and completely dry. If your chips are soft microwave longer, if they burn, decrease your time. (Remember cooking times will vary by microwave.)NOTES: ------------------------------------------------------------------Additional Batches: When making additional batches each successive batch may require less cooking time, especially if using a dish that holds heat such as a pizza stone. Flavoring your chips: I've used two techniques successfully. 1) Sprinkle the seasoning directly on the chip before cooking. The moisture from the food will help it adhere. This method keeps the recipe fat free/low fat. 2) Place 1Tbsp EVOO and you seasoning in a bag or covered container, add raw chips, shake to coat chips then cook. This method of course will add fat to your chip. Adding seasoning after cooking works if using a powder but not if adding granules (salt) especially if you don't use oil.Test your item first without seasoning. Some things (like sweet potatoes) taste great without any additional seasoning. Others (like white potatoes) are a canvas waiting for your creativity.Number of Servings: 1Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user TDAB62.
