12 C popped popcorn (about 6 oz un-popped kernels)
2 C pretzels (tiny twists)
4 C Chex cereal - original corn (I used Kroger brand)
~6 Tbsp margarine (or butter)
2 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp garlic powder
~4-6 Tbsp Parmesan, grated


How Do I Make Tex-Mex Popcorn Snack?

Here is how you make Tex-Mex Popcorn Snack:

Pop the popcorn kernels - according to directions. Let cool slightly, mix in the pretzels & cereal (you could add whatever other "snacks" you prefer). Melt margarine (stove top or microwave), mix in chili powder, cumin, & garlic powder. Pour mixture over the popcorn and shake to coat all. (I used the large pot I popped the pop corn in & held the lit over it as I shook. Another option is to use large ziploc bags.) Once coated well, add the Parmesan cheese & shake to mix again.Spread coated popcorn mixture onto one or two baking trays & bake at 350 for 10 minutes.Let cool & transfer to an airtight container.Serving Size: Makes 18, 1-Cup servingsNumber of Servings: 18Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user JETATMAN.
