Put chickpeas and other ingredients into blender (I use my magic bullet) and start blending to a paste, adding the liquid that you set aside earlier to keep the blades moving and to get it to the consistency you prefer. I generally end up using about 1/3 to half the water from the can. Taste and add additional amounts of spices to taste, if necessary. It's ready to eat immediately, especially if you keep your canned chickpeas in the fridge like I do; but if you prefer it colder just chill to desired temperature.Makes 3 servings of about 145 calories. I enjoy with raw veggies, especially fresh celery or thick slices of cucumbers, but you could also serve with ryekrisp or melba toast for a bit more calories.
