1 c. long grain rice
1 egg yolk
juice of 1/2 lemon

How Do I Make Canja-Portuguese Chicken Soup?

Here is how you make Canja-Portuguese Chicken Soup:

Boil Chicken in water with chicken base/bouillion for 20 minutes. Remove chicken to a plate until cool enough to shred. Add rice to pot I usually only use 1/2 c), lower heat to medium and continue to cook for another 20-25 minutes. In small bowl, mix egg yolk with juice of 1/2 lemon. Add some of the hot soup to this mixture while stirring so as not to cook the egg. Add the entire mixture back to the soup pot and mix well. Add chicken back to the pot and season to taste.
