1/2 lb of Macaroni (Ditalini, which is a small tubule shaped macaroni)
Salt

Here is how you make Chicken Soup from Scratch:

Makes 8 1.5-cup servings of chicken soup.Fill 8-quart stock pot half-way with water. Rinse raw chicken and place in pot. Raw chicken may consist of a whole chicken cut-up or any combination of breasts, thighs, wings, and drumsticks. I usually use breasts and thighs as they have the most meat on them and are the easiest to pick apart later. Boil chicken for one hour or until fully cooked.Prepare the vegetables for cooking. Wash the celery, remove the leaves, and set them aside. Finely chop the onion and celery, manually or using a food processor. Set aside. Remove the chicken from the pot and set aside to cool. Strain the liquid through a collander to remove any bone fragments and the fat that has risen to the top. Return this homemade broth to the stock pot and place back on stove.Add the chopped celery, chopped onion, celery leaves, and frozen carrots to the pot. Add the can of tomato sauce. Next, add the can of chicken broth. Stir the soup to distribute ingredients equally. Allow the soup to continue to boil. In a separate part, boil water for the macaroni and cook as directed.Once the chicken has cooled sufficiently, pull it apart into pieces. Add the chicken to the soup and stir. Season to desired taste using salt, pepper, and garlic powder.Serve soup with macaroni added.
