13 cups water
5 lbs butternut squash peeled and cubed (about 10 cups)
1 1/4 cupo fresh kale chopped
6 medium carrots, chopped
2 large onions chopped
1/4 tsp salt (recipe calls for 3 tsp salt I cut it down)
This is my adaptions in addition to above ingredients
1 tsp garlic minced
1/2 tsp black pepper
4 stalks of celery chopped
1 plum tomatoe chopped
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 tsp black pepper

Here is how you make Colorful Chicken 'n' Squash Soup from Taste of Home Magazine:

Place chicken and water in a soup kettle. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour or until chicken is tender.Remove chicken from broth aqnd cut into bitesize pieces and separating the bones form the meat. Strain broth and skim fat. Return broth and chicken to the pan Saute the garlic, onion, celery, and green pepper in a small skillet sprayed w/ Pam olive oil. Add to the soup kettle w/ the broth and the rest of the ingredients ( shoud just have the tomato and kale to add to everythiung else). Simmer untill veggies are tender.
