What Are The Ingredients For 7-Grain Bread Recipe? The ingredients for 7-Grain Bread are: 1.5 cups warm water (110-115 degrees)1/2 cup molasses (you can substitute honey) 1/2 cup milk (1%) 1 tbsp active dry yeast 2 cups of 7-grain cereal (chopped in food processor) aprox. 5 cups white flour 1 tsp salt How Do I Make 7-Grain Bread? Here is how you make 7-Grain Bread: This makes two 1.5lb loaves with 14 slices per loaf. Great for a quick piece of toast or to serve with dinner. Start by proofing your yeast- mix warm water, milk & molasses in a large mixing bowl & add yeast. When foam starts to develop on the surface, you know your yeast is up to the challenge! Add 2 cups of 7-grain cereal (I like to chop mine up in the food processor), 2 cups of flour and 1 tsp of salt. Mix well (should be a thick liquid consistency), then cover & let stand in a warm place for one to one and a half hours. Mixture will have risen & appear bubbly. Gradually add 2-3 cups white flour until the dough is firm enough to knead. Turn out on a floured board and knead for 5-10 minutes until the dough is smooth & elastic. Try not to add much flour during kneading- you've still got 1 round to go (too much flour makes for tough bread). Spray your bowl with non-stick cooking spray or rub with a little canola oil & put the dough back in the bowl (roll it around a bit to get a light coating of oil on top of the dough. Cover the top with plastic wrap & then a dish towel and place in a warm spot to rise. When dough has doubled in size (between 2-4 hours, more if your house is colder), punch down the dough & allow to rise for another hour. Roll it back onto the lightly floured board to divide the dough in half, then shape the loaves, leaving the top smooth & rounded. Place in non-stick loaf pans and re-cover, allowing loaves to rise until doubled. Pre-heat the oven to 375. As you put the loaves in, put a small pan of water in the bottom of the oven or spray several times with a water-filled spray bottle. This moisture makes for a better crust and a softer, chewier center. Bake loaves 30-35 minutes. When the bread is done, remove the loaves from the pans & allow to cool on a cooling rack. Warning: if you cut the bread when it's still very hot, the loaf will tear more than slice... but it tastes sooo good!Number of Servings: 28Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user SPRING1973.What's The Nutritional Info For 7-Grain Bread? The nutritional information for 7-Grain Bread is:
