3 tbs minced garlic
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (opt)
2 1/2 tbs sesame oil (or olive oil)
5 tbs soy sauce
2 1/2 tbs rice vinegar
2 tbs brown sugar, packed
2 tsp black pepper (or to taste)
2 tsp salt (or to taste)
1 tsp cornstarch (mixed with water to thicken sauce, opt)
1 tbs sesame seeds (or sliced almonds, opt)

Here is how you make Chinese Buffet - Fresh Green Beans:

Blanch trimmed (ends cut off) green beans in a pot of boiling salted water about 3 minutes (just crisp tender) & plunge into an ice bath to cool completely. Drain beans well & pat dry.Heat sesame oil in a large skillet; add in garlic & chili flakes (if using) stir fry 1 minute.Add in beans; cook additional 2 minutes.Add in soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, black pepper, & salt, cook until sauce reduces & slightly coats the beans.
