What Are The Ingredients For Japanese Curry Recipe?The ingredients for Japanese Curry are: THE ROUX-Butter, unsalted, 1 tbsp Flour, white, 0.25 cup Curry powder, 2 tbsp Pepper, red or cayenne, 0.25 tsp (more or less to taste) Pepper, black, 1 tbsp Ketchup, Heinz, 1 tbsp Lea & Perrins, Worcestershire Sauce, 3 tsp THE CURRY- Onions, 2 large, sliced thin Chicken Drumstick, 4 drumstick, bone and skin removed Carrots, 2 large , peeled & chopped *Potato, 2 large peeled & quartered Water, tap, 4 cups Apples, fresh, 1 small-peeled, cored & pureed (or grated) Salt, 1 tsp Curry powder, 1 tsp How Do I Make Japanese Curry?Here is how you make Japanese Curry: Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium low heat & add onions. Saute onions until golden brown & caramelized (about 30 minutes). Turn up heat to high, add the chicken & brown.Add carrots & water, bring to a boil. Skim off any foam off the surface. Lower heat to medium, add potatoes, pureed apple, & curry. Simmer until you can pass a fork through the carrots/potatoes & meat is tender. ( about 20 mins).For the roux, melt the butter over medium low heat. Add flour & curry powder, stirring until a thick paste. Add cayenne pepper & black pepper. Stir. Add ketchup & worcestershire sauce mix well. Continue to cook until the paste starts crumbling. Remove from heat & set aside until meat & veggies are ready.Ladle about 2 cups of liquid into roux & whisk until smooth.
