Put in 4 Qt pot with 3 cups water. Heat over medium heat for 20 minutes stiring occasionally.2) While lentils cook, heat oil in a medium skillet and add cumin seeds and cinnamon stick. Cook for 60 to 90 seconds till fragrant.3) Add onion, jalapeno, ginger and cook till onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for about 1 minute till fragrant.4) Add spices and tomato. Cook for about 4 minutes. Discard cinnamon stick.
