I'd recommend using frozen fruit. It helps make the shake thicker. Let the fruit thaw in the milk in the refrigorator for at least an hour. If your blender has a good seal, you can do it all in there. FYI the milk will probably freeze, but tha's ok. Mix it up until it reaches the desired consistency. Makes about 32oz. Very filling. A take off of Alton Brown's "Buff Smootie". Great for after workouts!!!

Here is how you make Jeff's Breakfast Smootie:

Makes about 32oz shake.Let the frozen fruit thaw in the milk for about an hour or so. The milk will most likely freeze, but that's ok. Place all of the ingredients into the blender. It might be easier if you put the Carnation in first. Mix on low and slowly increase the speed until you achieve a nice vortex. Let it mix at this speed for about a minute. If the blender sounds like it's reving at high speed, turn off the blender and wait for the air bubble around the blades to come to the surface. Using a wooden or plastic spoon may help with this.
