1 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 Cups flour
2 t cinnamon
1/2 t baking powder

Here is how you make Speculaas Cookies:

Beat butter with sugar until creamy. Beat in egg until fluffy. Mix dry ingredients together and add to creamed ingredients, mixing a low speed until well blended. Cover and chill at least 2 hours. Roll to 1/16" thickness on generously floured board, cut out with standard or molded cutters. Place on well greased cookie sheet (or silicone baking mat) 1/2" apart. Bake at 350 until edges begin to turn dark: 6-8 minutes for thin rolled cookies or 8-10 minutes for thicker molded figures.
