I have "thrown" this together enough that I finally had to give it a name. Very versatile but beware of your ingredients as it will change the taste, numbers and cook times. What Are The Ingredients For Peniey's Pilaf Recipe?The ingredients for Peniey's Pilaf are: 1 C Brown Rice1/2 TSP butter 5 OZ Mixed Veggies 1/10 C American Cheese (or your choice) 4 OZ Ground Turkey meat How Do I Make Peniey's Pilaf?Here is how you make Peniey's Pilaf: Cook ground meat in skillet until browned. In medium sauce pan start boiling water for rice.Once water is boiling, prepare rice as directed. (If a minute brand of rice will not take as long.) Steam or boil your veggies.When meat is done, set it aside. Drain veggies if boiled. When rice is done, but there's still just a little bit of water left, add your butter to the rice - only to keep from sticking. Lower your heat to Low/Medium. Stir in meat and veggies. Once blended well, add your cheese and blend it through as well.If it tastes a little dry, add your favorite low fat topping. To mix it up for left overs, I added home made honey mustard, changed the taste entirely and wasn't horrid on my numbers. I also add Mrs. Dash seasonings every now and then.
