1 tbl vegetable oil
1 medium yellow sweet onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves minced
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup ketchup
3/4 cup spicy brown (Dijon) mustard
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup apple juice
3/4 cup bourbon
salt and pepper to taste

Here is how you make Pork Ribs with Bourbon Mustard Sauce:

1. Heat oil in a small sauce pan and add onions and garlic and cook for 3-5 minutes. Add brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, water, Worcestershire, vinegar, apple juice, and bourbon. Simmer the sauce until thick and reduced, stirring occasionally, about 1 hour. Season to taste with the salt and pepper and set aside. **You can make this the day before and refrigerate until ready for crockpot**2. In a pan or on a grill, sear the ribs until lightly browned on all sides, flipping continually so they do not cook or burn. Season ribs with salt and pepper. Place in crockpot.3. Reserve 1/2 cup of sauce. Pour remaining sauce over the ribs, turning the ribs to make sure they are fully covered. 4. Cook on low for 8-10 hours.
