1 large head of cabbage, cored
1 cup cooked rice (1 cup / 1 pound of meat)
1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground chicken or turkey
1 medium onion, chopped fine
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp salt or to taste
2 cups of ketchup for sauce


How Do I Make Stuffed Cabbages?

Here is how you make Stuffed Cabbages:

Core the cabbage and parboil in a large pot of water. As the cabbage leaves cook, remove them from the water to cool. Reduce the size of the center vein on each leaf to make them easier to roll.While the cabbage is cooking, mix together the meat, onion & seasoning. Set aside.When the cabbage leaves are cooled, add a dollop of the meat mixture to each leaf (near the base) and roll the leaf up & around the meat, sealing it. Place in deep pot.When all the leaves are filled and in the pot, add the water to the pot, put in any left over cabbage leaves, and top with a bottle (2 cups) of Del Monte ketchup. Cover and steam for about 30-40 minutes. Serving Size:?Makes about 25 rolled cabbages, sometimes more. Serving size is 2 cabbages.
