Here is how you make Lettuce soup:

Peel and Boil the potatoes - drain and reserve the boiled water to add back as the stock. Cook bacon and add the vinegar to the bacon grease after it has sizzled down. When the potatoes are ready they can be mashed in a large pot, then add the remaining ingredients (chop the onions) with the bacon and grease, potato water, add the lettuce last. Simmer for 60 mins.
