How Do I Make Sauteed Brussel Sprouts? Here is how you make Sauteed Brussel Sprouts: -Clean and remove stems from brussel sprouts. -Cut brussel sprouts in half (top to bottom)-Salt/Pepper/Garlic Powder to taste-Sautee in large pan with 2 tbsp of margarine and 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil (add extra oil or margarine if needed)-Sautee until the brussels begin to brown -Remove brussel sprouts from the pan and set aside-In the pan, Add sliced onions, minced garlic (I use a garlic press), 1 tbs of margarine, and 1tbsp of extra virgin olive oil and saute' until onions are soft. ** Use less oil and margarine for smaller onions.-Once the onions are soft, add the brussel sprouts back to the pan. -Add 1 cup of chicken stock/broth-Stir and then cover. Lower heat and let simmer for at least 25 minutes. Continue to simmer until the brussels are softened to your liking. You may have to add more stock or broth if you simmer for a longer period of time. I like my brussel sprouts firm enough that they aren't turning to mush so I only simmer 25 minutes or so.
