My favourite slow-cooker recipe. I usually use deer roast, by the time it's done cooking it's broken apart into delicious bite-sized pieces. This is not a very healthy recipe, but it's a great special treat on cold winter nights, and even the pickiest eater should enjoy.

1 lg deer roast
1 can of peas
2 large russet potatoes
Water
Butter
Salt & pepper (to taste)
2.5 cups white rice


How Do I Make Simple Venison Stew?

Here is how you make Simple Venison Stew:

-Place the deer roast in the bottom of your crock-pot.-Peel and quarter the two potatoes, and add to the crock-pot.-Rinse the canned peas thoroughly, and then add to crock pot.-Add in 1 tbsp of butter.-Fill the rest of the crock-pot with water (you could also add a bit of beef bouillon for extra flavour)-Set crock-pot to high, and let cook for approximately 8-10 hours (we usually prep this before leaving for work, so it's ready when we get home).-When the stew is ready, turn the slow-cooker down to low while you make the rice.-When the rice is ready, place the rice and stew in a bowl, add salt and pepper to taste and enjoy!*Makes 4 large bowls.Number of Servings: 4Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user NONINEKO.
