This recipe came from my Great, Great grandparents who owned a bakery which made pies. They were wondering what to do with the extra pie dough so they rolled it out and added cinnamon, butter, and sugar and called them pie cookies. What Are The Ingredients For oldford-pie cookies Recipe?The ingredients for oldford-pie cookies are: -2 c sifted flour-1 tsp salt -2/3 c shortening -5 Tbs water -Enough butter to spread on dough -Enough Cinnamon to sprinkle on dough -Enough sugar to spread on dough How Do I Make oldford-pie cookies?Here is how you make oldford-pie cookies: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix flour, salt and shortening in a large bowl with a pastry blender. Add water 1 tablespoon at a time and mix well until dough is slightly sticky. Get a small chunk about the size of your hand and roll it out on a floured surface (so it wont stick) until it is about 1/8 of an inch thick. Spread butter on surface. Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl then sprinkle it across the buttered dough until you can't see dough anymore. Cut dough into 1inch by 6-7inch strips. Roll up strips and put them on a non-stick cookie sheet. Cook in oven for around 20min and see if they are golden.
