I make this in a large batch and eat it every morning. I start with 6 cups of cold water, add 1 tsp. salt and bring water to a boil. Add 3 cups of old fashioned oats and cook uncovered for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat, stir in 1 cup of raisins, 1 cup of chopped walnuts, 1 tbsp. vanilla, 2 tsp. cinnamon, dash of cayenne pepper. Stir. Cover and let it rest for 5 minutes.
