Here is how you make Mom's Key Lime Pie:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.Prep time does NOT include juicing the limes. Juicing the limes can take anywhere from 10-20 min, depending on how many limes you use and what method of juicing you use.6-8 standard limes or 12-14 key limes yields about 1/2 cup of lime juice. My mom says she uses a garlic press to juice the tiny key limes.Combine lime juice, beaten egg yolks, and sweetened condensed milk in a bowl and beat with a hand mixer on high for about a minute. Stir in lime zest and food coloring, one drop at a time, if desired (neither of these last 2 ingredients are critical to the recipe).Pour mixture into a graham cracker crust. You can reduce the fat and calorie content of this recipe if you make your own low-fat, low-cal graham cracker crust.Bake 15-20 min at 400 degrees. Cool completely on rack, then refrigerate. Cut the pie into 8 equal pieces. When you serve it, garnish with a spritz of canned whip for 15 calories per 2 T.
