Here is how you make Backed Macaroni and Cheese:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.Undercook the pasta by about 2 minutes.Drain pasta and place it back in the pan. Throw the stick of butter in, allow to melt, stirring occassionally.Pour pasta into an ungreased casserole dish.Slice cheese 1/8" to 1/4" thick. Push slices down into the cooked pasta, distributing the slices evenly throughout.Pour milk in until about 1" from the top of the pasta. It might be more than 2 cups. Sprinkle bread crumbs on top of pasta.Bake uncovered for about 45 minutes. It's done when you can tip the casserole dish almost sideways without milk coming to the surface.Note: Do not be put off by the lack of pre-melted cheese.
